Style Queue Launch Party

Hello lovelies!!

So, yesterday I had the pleasure of attending Style Queue's Launch Party! The party was a prelude to the clothing website,'s opening and it was held at the Ven Sherrod Art Gallery.

Style Queue is the brainchild of sisters MeechyMonroe and Ms. Vaughn, who are commonly known as The Monroe Sisters. I had the pleasure of  interviewing these beautiful ladies and found out these interesting tidbits about the website (all paraphrased):

What sizes will be carried on the website?
Small-Large, with a few plus-size options in the 119 Vintage store

What are the price points?
$6-$49 (you can't beat that ladies!)

Who are The Monroe Sisters' style icons?
Their paternal and maternal grandmothers, the everyday woman, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, and Beyonce

A litte more information about the website:
The online store features a vintage section filled with items that are handpicked by The Monroe Sisters. There will also be an online lookbook and blog to give inspiration to women who need help styling different pieces.

A few thrifting tips:
Be patient. That is number 1. It is best to look in more affluent neighborhoods, as they tend to have more of a selection of quality pieces. The sisters have a YouTube video that highlights thrifting tips.

Sentiment behind the name 119 Vintage:
It is an ode to their late grandmothers who were their style icons growing up. Both of their grandmothers suffered from Alzheimer's and diabetes and, because of this, the girls have dedicated a section to their grandmothers allowing people to donate to the respective charities. 119 is actually the street that their parents met and fell in love on, so that number holds a special place in their hearts.

Overall, the party went off without a hitch! It was very well put together and everything ran smoothly. There aren't enough nice things I can say about these two girls, as they are some of the sweetest, most humble women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!

I also ran into a few new bloggers, who I met while standing in the Media Line. Tonia of Ask Nia B and Asia of Total Fashionista are total sweethearts and I can't wait to link up with them in the future. I met so many wonderful people and I am so elated that I got a chance to partake in the journey that The Monroe Sisters are embarking upon. I wish them much success!
